Texas Public Radio

Texas Public Radio’s (TPR) vision is to be the front porch of Greater San Antonio — a multimedia local news organization and a vibrant, welcoming space where our community gathers to stay informed, shapes the future of our city, and celebrates the culture that makes us unique. TPR invested significant resources in sustained, in-depth coverage of the historic July 4 floods in Central Texas that informed our community and the nation.

Project MEND

Project MEND is committed to improving the quality of life for individuals living with disabilities and illness through the refurbishment, reuse and distribution of medical equipment and other assistive technology. The organization provided a wheelchair to 4-year-old River, who has spinal muscular atrophy and unable to walk on his own. His mother had been told by insurance that a wheelchair was not a medical necessity.

Agarita

Agarita nourishes the local community through artistic collaborations, education, community engagement, and free, adventurous programming. Founded by four musicians rooted in San Antonio, Agarita is devoted to reaching new audiences by reinventing the concert experience.

Spay Neuter Network

Spay Neuter Network’s mission is to eliminate pet overpopulation by providing spay/neuter surgeries, while empowering communities to care responsibly for dogs and cats. Their vision is to create compassionate communities free of homeless pets. The Spay Neuter Network helped George, and his beloved Goldilocks, by covering the cost of her spay surgery, vaccines, and other preventatives.
