YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. “We achieve our mission by removing barriers for women, especially women of color, to break the cycle of poverty and thrive. When women empower themselves, they empower their families and communities.” – Francesca Rattray, CEO YWCA San Antonio.
Jessica Alvarez faced significant challenges before joining the YWCA RESET Program. With a determination, she set out to complete her Medical Assistant (MA) Program, secure stable housing, and build a strong foundation for long-term career growth. She also sought financial independence and professional development opportunities to improve her job prospects. Through the RESET Program, Jessica received guidance on career readiness, financial empowerment, encouragement, and personal development. She is an active participant in the program and is encouraged to advocate for herself as well as to let the RESET team provide support while she continues to grow.
Jessica’s dedication paid off. She successfully completed her Medical Assistant (MA) Program, demonstrating her resilience and commitment. With a strong foundation in place, Jessica plans to continue advancing in the medical field while securing stable employment as a Medical Assistant. She remains committed to financial growth and long-term career success, with aspirations of creating a better future for herself and her child. Jessica’s journey is a testament to perseverance, support, and determination. Her story is proof that, with the right resources and mindset, it’s possible to overcome challenges and achieve your goals.
