At the SA Hope Center, they love people well by empowering them to meet their needs through in-depth case management and wrap-around social services to help neighborhoods thrive. Year-round programs including food pantries, on-site health programs, and clothing assistance support the surrounding community while initiatives such as Parent University, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren classes, Kidz Club, and specialized domestic violence programs provide additional education and family support.

With stories like Carmen’s, SA Hope Center shows their support for the people closest to them. Carmen encountered a range of challenges, both financial and personal. Carmen enrolled in our one-on-one mentoring program, accessed mental health services, and participated in career readiness and financial literacy classes. Through these experiences, she gained confidence and acquired skills that helped her reconnect with herself, ultimately leading her to the type of employment she truly wanted. Through her unwavering determination, Carmen’s hard work paid off when she was promoted to a property manager, a position that offered a monthly stipend and a sense of stability.

The support provided by SA Hope Center in covering her CPS bill and facilitating approval for Bexar County Utility relief greatly improved her financial stability. Furthermore, assistance with food, clothing, and transportation through gas cards and help with her vehicle registration improved her overall well-being. Through therapy and self-care, Carmen healed emotional wounds, embraced personal growth, and cultivated a renewed sense of alignment with herself and the world. Although this is not the end of Carmen’s story, we are confident that her resilience and ability to embrace opportunities will continue to be rewarding.
